Bolas's Grixis Blitz
BrawlDeck Strategy
A fast Grixis tempo-aggro deck that deploys cheap evasive threats, strips the opponent's hand, and closes out the game with Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God.
Kitesail Freebooter and Kitesail Larcenist attack the opponent's resources while pressuring life totals, and Infuriate gives your cheap creatures the extra power needed to win combat and finish games. Thoughtseize and Deadly Dispute trade spare permanents for cards and information. Ogre Battledriver and Krenko, Mob Boss go wide with hasty attackers, while Massacre Wurm and Blasphemous Edict wipe small boards and drain life. Flamewake Phoenix recurs itself from the graveyard to keep the pressure on, and Counterspell plus Swiftfoot Boots protect your key threats. Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God and Liliana, Dreadhorde General take over the late game.
Keep hands with 2-4 lands that produce your colors, at least one cheap threat, and one piece of interaction (Fatal Push, Infernal Grasp, Thoughtseize, or Counterspell). Mulligan hands that are all lands, all expensive spells, or that lack blue, black, and red sources.
Early game: curve out with 1-3 mana threats and use discard plus cheap removal to clear blockers; use Infuriate to punch through a key attack or win a combat trade. Mid game: protect your board with counterspells and Swiftfoot Boots, and reset with Damnation or Blasphemous Edict when behind. Late game: resolve Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God or Liliana, Dreadhorde General to grind out card advantage and finish the opponent.
The mana base leans on guildgates and taplands, so fast aggro can punish a slow start. Board wipes and graveyard hate can blunt your recursion plans, and heavy control decks can out-grind you if you run out of gas.
