Avengers Assemble — Marvel Hero Boros Aggro
StandardDeck Strategy
A fast, aggressive Boros (White/Red) Standard deck that swarms the board with Marvel hero cards and efficient White/Red attackers, anthems the whole team, and closes games with burn and a team-wide finisher.
Captain America, Super-Soldier and Warden of the Inner Sky lead the assault, while Warleader's Call pings the opponent every time a creature enters and gives your whole team +1/+1 — so each new hero you deploy both grows your attackers and chips at the opponent's life total. Warden of the Inner Sky converts the wide board into permanent +1/+1 counters, and Reluctant Role Model shields your key threats from removal so the anthem engine survives. Agent Phil Coulson and Daredevil, Man Without Fear fill the curve with aggressive bodies, while Captain Marvel, Earth's Protector provides an evasive, hard-hitting threat. Leyline Axe supercharges any single attacker with a free Equipment that comes down on turn one when it is in your opening hand, Shock and Lightning Helix clear early blockers or finish off the last few points of life, and Avengers Assemble! is the top-deck finisher that untaps and buffs the squad for an alpha strike.
Keep any hand with 2–3 lands and at least two cheap threats (one-drops and two-drops). Snap-keep hands containing a Captain America, Super-Soldier or Warden of the Inner Sky plus an early play and a Shock, and happily keep any hand that starts with Leyline Axe on the battlefield. Mulligan hands with fewer than two lands, and mulligan four-plus-land hands with no creature to deploy — this deck needs an early board presence. Never keep a one-land hand.
Early game (turns 1–2): deploy Warden of the Inner Sky and Agent Phil Coulson, drop a free Leyline Axe on your best attacker, and use Shock to kill blockers so your creatures keep connecting for damage. Mid game (turns 3–5): land Captain America, Super-Soldier, Captain Marvel, Earth's Protector, and Daredevil, Man Without Fear, then resolve Warleader's Call so every subsequent creature pumps the team and pings the opponent. Attack every turn — this deck wins by never letting up. Late game (turns 5+): use Lightning Helix as reach, hold Avengers Assemble! as the finisher that untaps your team for lethal, and use Ghost Vacuum to hate out graveyard-based strategies trying to stabilize against you.
This deck folds to mass removal (board wipes) and to decks that can block profitably — it has limited reach once behind on board, so over-committing into a sweeper is a common way to lose. It has no dedicated card-advantage engine, so it can run out of gas in long games. Watch out for lifegain decks that negate your chip damage and for cheap instant-speed removal aimed at your key creatures. Note: many Marvel-series cards in the collection (e.g. Captain America, Steve Rogers; Iron Man, Tony Stark; Hawkeye, Trick Shot; Black Panther, Claws of Bast; Spider-Man, Web-Spinner) are not currently Standard-legal, so they have been swapped for legal, synergistic substitutes. Sideboard by shaving the slowest top-end cards and adding more burn against grindy control.
