Dimir Draw Control
StandardDeck Strategy
A Dimir control deck that combines cheap interaction, counterspells, and steady draw engines to outlast opponents and win through evasive creatures and planeswalkers.
Phyrexian Arena and Talion, the Kindly Lord grant extra cards every turn, while Opt and Think Twice smooth early draws and fill the graveyard. Enduring Curiosity turns one flying hit into additional cards, and Homunculus Horde rewards every second draw with a free attacker. Unholy Annex provides repeatable card draw and eventually creates demon tokens once you have enough cards.
Keep hands with two to four lands and at least one early interaction spell like Murder, Essence Scatter, or Negate. Mulligan hands with zero lands, no early action, or hands full of expensive cards that leave you vulnerable.
Early: play lands, use Opt and Think Twice to find answers, and remove or counter early threats. Mid: resolve Phyrexian Arena, Talion, or Unholy Annex to pull ahead on cards while staying alive. Late: stabilize with Massacre Wurm or Liliana, then finish with flyers, Homunculus tokens, Sidisi, Arcanis, or The Speed Demon.
Aggressive and wide boards can pressure the deck before the draw engines take over. The deck has few board wipes, relies on singleton threats, and can stumble if it draws too many tapped lands.
