Dimir Token Duplication

A Dimir control deck that generates Ninja tokens with Kaito, Cursed Captain and duplicates them with For the Common Good to create an overwhelming army.

Kaito, Cursed Captain makes a 1/1 flying Ninja token with menace each turn using its +1 ability. For the Common Good is an instant that creates a token copy of any creature or artifact you control, including tokens. By targeting a Ninja token, you double your attackers each turn. Removal spells like Murder and Go for the Throat keep the board clear while counterspells (Negate, Syncopate) protect your key pieces. Morbid Opportunist draws cards when your creatures die, refueling your hand.

Keep hands with at least 3 lands and either a token generator (Kaito) or early removal. A hand with For the Common Good but no token to copy is risky. A hand with no interaction by turn 2 is a mulligan.

Early turns: play removal and counterspells to survive. Use Think Twice for card selection. Deploy Kaito on turn 3 or 4 and create a Ninja token with his +1. Mid game: use For the Common Good to copy the Ninja token. Attack with menace creatures. Continue duplicating each turn while controlling the board. Late game: overwhelm with a growing army of flying, menace tokens backed by removal.

Fast aggro decks can outpace your early game. Board wipes (e.g., Sunfall, Day of Judgment) reset your token army. Exile-based removal (e.g., Path to Exile) can permanently remove Kaito. Hand disruption (e.g., Thoughtseize) can take your key pieces. For the Common Good requires a target, so empty boards stall your plan.
