Golgari Sacrifice Timeless

A Golgari sacrifice-matters deck that uses death triggers and token generation to grind out advantage and eventually overwhelm opponents with Izoni, Thousand-Eyed's swarm of Insects and life gain.

• Blood Artist and Zulaport Cutthroat drain opponents whenever any creature dies, turning each sacrifice into direct damage.
• Priest of Forgotten Gods sacrifices creatures for mana and card draw, while also forcing opponents to sacrifice, fueling the drain effects.
• Witch's Oven + Cauldron Familiar creates an infinite loop of life loss for opponents and life gain for you, also providing a permanent sacrifice outlet.
• Plaguecrafter forces each opponent to sacrifice a creature or planeswalker, which triggers Blood Artist and fills the graveyard for Izoni's delve.
• Izoni, Thousand-Eyed returns from the graveyard with a massive swarm of tokens and life gain, closing out the game.

Keep hands with 2-3 lands and at least one sacrifice outlet or drain creature. Mulligan hands with no early plays or only expensive cards. A hand with Priest of Forgotten Gods or Cauldron Familiar is strong.

Early: Play one-drop drain creatures (Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat) or sacrifice enablers (Cauldron Familiar, Witch's Oven). Use removal to protect your own creatures and slow down aggressive starts. Mid: Establish the sacrifice engine with Priest of Forgotten Gods or Plaguecrafter. Use recursion from Eternal Witness or Graveyard Trespasser to keep pressure. Gradually drain opponents' life total. Late: Cast Izoni, Thousand-Eyed to create a huge board of tokens and gain life. Use her ability to recur key creatures or simply attack for lethal. The drain from Blood Artist can finish off opponents even if they survive combat.

• Graveyard hate (Rest in Peace, Leyline of the Void) shuts down Izoni and recursion.
• Fast combo decks can win before the engine is established.
• Board wipes can reset the token army, though the drain triggers provide some reach.
• Heavy removal can disrupt sacrifice outlets.
