Deck Strategy
Concept

A two-color blue-black control deck that uses cheap counters, removal, and evasive flyers to grind out wins without spending rare wildcards.

Synergies

Deep-Cavern Bat and Sphinx of Clear Skies give you evasive threats, while Essence Scatter, Negate, Spell Pierce, and Disdainful Stroke protect them. Bitter Triumph and Fell handle creatures, and Deduce and Opt smooth draws. The deck's low mana value keeps the curve tight.

Mulligan Strategy

Keep hands with two or three lands, a mix of blue and black sources, and at least one piece of interaction (removal or counter). Mulligan hands with no early plays, too many expensive spells, or a single color source.

Game Plan

Early: trade one-for-one with removal and counters. Mid: drop Deep-Cavern Bat to strip key cards and start attacking. Late: land Sphinx of Clear Skies and protect it with counters, outdrawing the opponent while the flyers close the game.

Weaknesses

The deck has few threats and can lose to large resilient creatures or resolved planeswalkers. It also struggles against heavy card advantage from decks that can reload quickly.
