Boros Mouse Prowess

A blistering Boros aggro deck that plays fast Valiant and Prowess creatures, turns on them with pump spells and Auras, and finishes with burn.

The key is targeting your own small creatures. Heartfire Hero, Emberheart Challenger, Manifold Mouse, Slickshot Show-Off, and Monastery Swiftspear all reward being targeted or casting noncreature spells. Monstrous Rage and Shardmage's Rescue trigger Valiant while growing the attacker; Sheltered by Ghosts exiles a blocker and gains life. Burst Lightning and Lightning Strike serve as removal and reach to close out games.

Keep a hand with two or three lands and at least one one-drop. One-land hands and hands with no early creature are risky. A Heartfire Hero plus Monstrous Rage hand is an ideal keep.

Early: play the cheapest threat and pressure immediately. Mid: trigger Valiant and Prowess to make attacks huge; use Sheltered by Ghosts to remove blockers. Late: finish with burn or a wide pumped attack, and don't overextend into sweepers.

The deck loses to early board wipes and heavy spot removal. It is a low-land, fast deck, so mana screw can happen. Life gain and cheap blockers can slow it down.
