Verdant Enchantment Overlords
StandardDeck Strategy
A Selesnya enchantment-matter aggro-midrange deck that grows cheap auras and Class enchantments into big threats, using Optimistic Scavenger as the engine and Duskmourn Overlords as the top-end payoff.
Optimistic Scavenger is the engine: every enchantment that enters (Cooped Up, Sheltered by Ghosts, Hunter's Talent, Innkeeper's Talent) puts a +1/+1 counter on it, quickly turning a one-mana 1/1 into a must-answer threat. Innkeeper's Talent feeds that same counter plan and at higher levels doubles counters on your board, letting a single Scavenger or Overlord token snowball. Sheltered by Ghosts pulls double duty as removal and as a Scavenger trigger, while Prophetic Prism fixes your mana and replaces itself, helping you cast the Overlords. Cooped Up exiles problematic creatures while triggering the Scavenger. The Overlords are enchantment creatures that both trigger the Scavenger and close games.
Keep hands with two to three lands, at least one one-drop (Optimistic Scavenger or Cenote Scout), and a cheap enchantment to start the engine. A hand with a Scavenger plus two auras is a snap keep. Mulligan hands with no action, no green source, or all expensive Overlords and no early plays; a five-card hand with a threat and a removal aura is better than a clunky seven.
Early: deploy Cenote Scout or Optimistic Scavenger, then stick cheap enchantments to grow the Scavenger and clear blockers with Cooped Up or Sheltered by Ghosts. Mid: level up Innkeeper's Talent, use Bushwhack and Hunter's Talent fights to win combat, and turn a single creature into a large evasive threat. Late: land an Overlord of the Mistmoors or Overlord of the Hauntwoods to overwhelm the board, using Prophetic Prism to fix mana and push the final points of damage.
This list is removal-light and folds to sweepers like Day of Judgment, so avoid overcommitting into open mana. It has limited reach against flyers and little interaction for opposing combo or graveyard strategies; Sheltered by Ghosts must be saved for the real threats. The manabase leans on basic lands and a few common duals, so aggressive color-hosers or land destruction can stumble the double-white and double-green costs of the Overlords.
