Colorless Traxos Artifact Aggro
HistoricDeck Strategy
A mono-colorless Historic artifact deck that chains cheap historic spells to repeatedly untap and attack with Traxos, Scourge of Kroog while out-valuing the opponent with Karn, Scion of Urza and Ugin, the Ineffable.
Traxos, Scourge of Kroog does not untap during your untap step, but any historic spell you cast untaps it. Ornithopter costs zero, Gingerbrute and Manifold Key cost one, and Foundry Inspector and Jhoira's Familiar reduce your artifact costs — so you can reliably untap the 7/7 trampler in your first main phase and attack every single turn. Manifold Key also provides a repeatable untap for one mana and can make a key attacker unblockable. Voltaic Servant gives you another way to untap Traxos at the beginning of combat, acting as extra copies of your untap engine. Stonecoil Serpent is a flexible X-spell that scales into the late game and doubles as a blocker or threat. Karn, Scion of Urza creates Construct tokens that grow with your artifact count, while Ugin, the Ineffable's static ability makes every colorless spell cost {2} less, turning your artifacts into a snowballing engine.
Keep hands with two to three lands and at least one cheap artifact (Ornithopter, Gingerbrute, or Manifold Key) plus a real threat (Traxos, Foundry Inspector, or Karn). Mulligan any hand with no early action, all six-drops, or fewer than two lands.
Early game: deploy cheap artifacts and cost reducers, chip in with evasive Gingerbrutes, and set up your untap engine. Mid game: land Traxos and attack every turn, using Manifold Key, Voltaic Servant, and cheap historic spells to keep it untapped, while Stonecoil Serpent answers small blockers or grows into a finisher. Late game: close with Karn, Scion of Urza's Constructs and card advantage, then drop Ugin, the Ineffable to make all your colorless spells cheap and pick off problematic permanents with its minus ability. Blast Zone and Inventors' Fair give you removal and tutoring from your utility lands.
Heavy sweepers (Wrath of God effects) punish a board of small artifacts and can strand Traxos. The deck has few answers to non-artifact, non-creature permanents, and targeted artifact hate such as Abrade can disrupt your untap engine. Many of the utility lands enter tapped or are legendary, so the mana base can be slow against fast aggro decks.
