Sin's Spiral of Punishment
Standard BrawlDeck Strategy
A Black-White-Green Standard Brawl recursion deck helmed by Sin, Spira's Punishment that happily lets your own creatures die, then brings them back bigger and meaner while enchantments and sweepers keep the opponent's side of the board empty.
Zoraline, Cosmos Caller is the engine: every attack returns a small creature card (Vampire Nighthawk, Deep-Cavern Bat, Serra Angel) from your graveyard straight onto the battlefield tapped and attacking, so dying is effectively free. Sheltered by Ghosts exiles an opposing permanent and grants ward, while Nowhere to Run is removal that stays on the field. Innkeeper's Talent and Caretaker's Talent convert each enchantment into counters and card advantage, and Enduring Innocence returns itself as an enchantment when it dies, feeding those Talents every turn. Overlord of the Mistmoors floods the board with flying tokens that become sacrifice fodder and reanimation targets, and Bloodletter of Aclazotz doubles every point of life the opponent loses so the loop actually closes games despite lifegain. Kutzil, Malamet Exemplar stops opponents from casting spells on your turn, protecting your rebuild turns, and Unholy Annex // Ritual Chamber plus Bandit's Talent grind out value while draining.
Keep any hand with three to four lands plus early interaction (Duress, Withering Torment, Fell, Bitter Triumph, Get Lost, Bushwhack). A hand with a reanimation payoff but no way to fill the graveyard is a trap. Never keep a one-land hand, and never keep a hand that cannot interact before turn three against an unknown opponent.
Early game: land a cheap threat (Deep-Cavern Bat, Tinybones, Bauble Burglar) and use Duress or Withering Torment to strip or answer the opponent's best play. Trade creatures freely, because everything in your graveyard is a future resource. Mid game: cast Sin, Spira's Punishment and layer enchantments (Sheltered by Ghosts, Nowhere to Run, Innkeeper's Talent, Caretaker's Talent, Bandit's Talent). Use Split Up, Day of Judgment, Massacre Girl, Known Killer and Pawpatch Formation to wipe the board, then immediately rebuild with Zoraline, Cosmos Caller and Unholy Annex // Ritual Chamber — the returned creatures hit harder than the versions that died. Hold Get Lost, Bitter Triumph, Long Goodbye, Fell, Withering Torment or Shoot the Sheriff as instant-speed answers. Late game: loop reanimation every turn, keep the board free of opposing permanents with sweepers and exile removal, and drain the opponent out with Bloodletter of Aclazotz, Beza, the Bounding Spring, Overlord of the Mistmoors, Serra Angel and Valgavoth, Terror Eater. Kutzil, Malamet Exemplar makes your turn effectively untouchable, so the final points of damage are unanswerable.
Graveyard hate is the biggest problem: effects that exile your graveyard (Soul-Guide Lantern, Scavenger Grounds, Rest in Peace-style enchantments) turn off Zoraline and your recursion at once, so keep a Duress or exile-removal spell for them. Exile-based removal (Get Lost, Withering Torment's enchantment mode) also blanks the recursion plan, so bait it with cheap Bats and expendable tokens first. Fast go-wide aggro can run you over before your sweepers come online, and counterspell-heavy decks punish the five-plus-mana enchantments, so sequence around their open mana. Note that the current Standard pool has no true 'opponents cannot gain life' lock; Bloodletter of Aclazotz is the closest answer, so pure lifegain decks must be outraced rather than locked out.
