Mono-Black Vampiric Hunger

A mono-black midrange-combo deck that drains the opponent's life while gaining life, culminating in an infinite loop with Bloodthirsty Conqueror and Enduring Tenacity.

Bloodthirsty Conqueror gains you life whenever an opponent loses life. Enduring Tenacity causes opponents to lose life whenever you gain life. Together they form an infinite loop: opponent loses 1 life, you gain 1, they lose 1, etc. Bloodletter of Aclazotz doubles the opponent's life loss, speeding up the kill. Deep-Cavern Bat and Vampire Nighthawk supply lifelink and evasive pressure to trigger the drain effects repeatedly. Beseech the Mirror tutors for the missing combo piece.

Keep hands with at least two lands and a mix of early interaction (Shoot the Sheriff, Bitter Triumph) plus a lifelinker or card draw. A hand holding one combo piece and a tutor is excellent. Mulligan hands with no play before turn 3 or with too many expensive cards.

Early: Deploy lifelinkers like Deep-Cavern Bat and Vampire Nighthawk to stabilize and chip away, using Shoot the Sheriff and Bitter Triumph to answer key threats. Mid: Resolve Darkstar Augur or Preacher of the Schism to draw cards and find the combo. Assemble Bloodthirsty Conqueror with Enduring Tenacity. Late: Once both pieces are online, the opponent loses infinite life and the game ends. If the combo is disrupted, Bloodletter of Aclazotz plus evasive vampires close the game the old-fashioned way.

The deck leans on enchantments and creatures, so enchantment removal, sweepers, and instant-speed creature removal can break up the combo. It can be slow against fast aggro if it does not draw early lifelinkers. Countermagic can stop key pieces, though Beseech the Mirror helps find replacements and redundant copies.
