Mono-Green Devotion uses Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx and Lotus Cobra with fetchlands to generate explosive mana, then casts Craterhoof Behemoth or Ghalta, Stampede Tyrant for a lethal swing.
Lotus Cobra plus fetchlands like Prismatic Vista generates up to 2 extra mana per turn, accelerating into Turn 3 Nissa, Who Shakes the World or Cavalier of Thorns. Nissa untaps Nykthos for even more mana, while Cavalier adds devotion and mills hits for Finale of Devastation. Finale of Devastation for X=10 tutors Craterhoof and gives your team +10/+10 and haste, often ending the game immediately.
Keep hands with a turn-1 mana dork (Llanowar Elves), at least 2 lands (including a fetch or Forest), and a ramp piece like Lotus Cobra or Cultivate. A hand with Nykthos and a way to build 3-4 devotion early is a snap keep.
Early: Turn 1 Llanowar Elves. Turn 2 Lotus Cobra plus fetchland, use the 3-4 mana to cast Old-Growth Troll or Cultivate. Turn 3 deploy Cavalier of Thorns or Nissa, building devotion. Mid: Activate Nykthos for 5+ mana to slam Ghalta, Stampede Tyrant, often dropping Tarrasque or Titan of Industry from hand. Late: If board stalls, cast Finale of Devastation for Craterhoof to alpha strike, or use Nissa’s animated lands as backup attackers.
Early disruption like Fatal Push on your dorks slows ramp significantly. Board wipes such as Wrath of God or Farewell reset your board. Graveyard hate like Rest in Peace weakens Cavalier’s mill and Finale’s recursion, so prioritize resolving Nykthos and Nissa.
