Selesnya Food and Cactuar
AlchemyDeck Strategy
A zero-wildcard Selesnya Alchemy deck that combines Hobbit Food synergies from The Lord of the Rings with Final Fantasy's Cactuar.
Many Partings and Shire Shirriff create Food tokens, while Fearless Halfling and Mirkwood Trapper give early blockers. Escape from Orthanc can bounce a blocker, and Banish from Edoras removes tapped threats. Cactuar provides a hard-to-block finisher, while Old Man Willow gives a beefy body on the top end.
Keep hands with at least three lands and an early creature like Fearless Halfling, Shire Shirriff, or Mirkwood Trapper. Mulligan one-land hands and hands with too many four-drops.
Early: play cheap Hobbits and Food-makers to stabilize. Mid: use removal and combat tricks to keep the board clear. Late: play Cactuar and Old Man Willow to close the game before your opponent's bigger threats arrive.
Sweepers and flyers can be difficult to beat, and the deck has no way to deal with enchantments except for a single bounce effect. Its all-common/uncommon card base is less powerful than rare-heavy Alchemy deck.
