Bant Virtue Perennation Control
StandardDeck Strategy
A Bant control-midrange deck that uses flexible interaction and card advantage to reach Absolute Virtue, with Perennation supporting attrition and recursion.
Bushwhack helps fix mana and can fight early creatures, supporting the jump to Beza, the Bounding Spring and Absolute Virtue. Deduce and Three Steps Ahead refill your hand, while No More Lies and Get Lost protect your expensive threats and disrupt opposing plans. Perennation helps rebuy key resources, making grindy matchups favorable.
Keep hands with 2-4 lands, at least one early interaction spell, and a clear path to cast a four-drop or reach a five-plus-drop. Mulligan hands with too many expensive payoffs and no early interaction, or hands with too few colored sources.
Early game: fix mana with Bushwhack, interact with Get Lost and No More Lies, and set up card advantage with Deduce. Mid game: stabilize using Split Up, Day of Judgment, and Beza, the Bounding Spring. Late game: resolve Absolute Virtue, use Perennation to recover resources, and close with resilient threats backed by counterspells.
Fast aggro can punish slow draws, and counterspell-heavy decks can stop expensive finishers. Graveyard hate may reduce Perennation’s value, and land destruction or color-screw can strain the three-color mana base.
