Izzet Aggro Tempo

An aggressive blue-red tempo deck that uses cheap prowess creatures and disruptive spells to outpace opponents, winning quickly while controlling key threats.
Lavaleaper, Fearless Swashbuckler, and Slickshot Show-Off all have prowess, growing bigger each time you cast a noncreature spell. Shock, Lightning Strike, and Opt trigger prowess while removing blockers or digging for answers. Ghost Vacuum exiles problematic permanents, and Ral, Crackling Wit can copy your best spells for extra reach.
Keep hands with 2-3 lands and at least one prowess creature (Slickshot Show-Off, Lavaleaper, Fearless Swashbuckler) plus a removal spell. Mulligan hands with no early pressure or too many lands.
- Early Game: Play a prowess creature on turn one or two (e.g., Fearless Swashbuckler, Lavaleaper) and follow with Shock or Lightning Strike to trigger prowess and remove blockers. Use Opt to set up future draws.
- Mid Game: Deploy Slickshot Show-Off or Mockingbird to copy a prowess creature, then pump them with Choreographed Sparks or Terminal Velocity. Use Ghost Vacuum to exile threats. Monument to Endurance and Monument to Perfection provide value.
- Late Game: Finish with an unblockable Slickshot Show-Off (if you cast a spell) or a copied Ral spell. Ral, Crackling Wit can double a burn spell for lethal.
Vulnerable to board sweepers and lifegain strategies. Relies on untapping with prowess creatures; heavy removal or hand disruption can stall the game plan.
