Mono-White Cat Lifegain

An aggressive white lifegain deck that uses Patched Playmate and Healer's Hawk to quickly grow Ajani's Pridemate and overwhelm opponents with a fast, cat-themed assault.

• Patched Playmate & Lifegain: Playmate’s lifelink triggers Ajani’s Pridemate, making it larger each attack. Healer’s Hawk also provides lifelink to fuel Pridemate.
• Get Lost & Exile: Removes early blockers at instant speed, keeping the path open for your lifelinkers. Lay Down Arms exiles with cheap cost when you have many Plains.
• Surge of Salvation: Protects key creatures from removal or board wipes, preserving your lifegain engine.
• Valiant Veteran: Enters with a +1/+1 counter on another creature, accelerating Pridemate’s growth.

Keep hands with at least two one-drops (Patched Playmate, Healer’s Hawk) and two lands. If you have Ajani’s Pridemate, prioritize hands that can trigger lifegain on turn two. Avoid hands with four or more lands or no early creatures.

• Early: Turn one: Healer’s Hawk. Turn two: Patched Playmate or Ajani’s Pridemate. Use lifelink attacks to grow Pridemate. Turn three: Valiant Veteran or more lifelinkers. Use Get Lost to remove blockers.
• Mid: Continue attacking with growing Pridemate. Use Lay Down Arms to exile threats. Surge of Salvation to protect your board if opponent has removal.
• Late: By turn four or five, Pridemate should be large enough to close the game. Use remaining removal to clear the path. If the game goes longer, keep applying pressure with lifelink birds.

• Board Wipes: Sunfall or Temporary Lockdown reset your lifegain. Hold Surge of Salvation if possible.
• Targeted Removal: If opponent removes Ajani’s Pridemate immediately, the deck loses its main threat. Playing multiple lifelinkers can help mitigate.
• Flying Threats: Healer’s Hawk can block, but large fliers can be a problem. Use Get Lost on them.
