Esper Planeswalker Control (Historic)

A Historic-legal Esper control deck that uses planeswalkers, efficient removal, and sweepers to control the board and win through incremental value, utilizing two wildcards for key missing cards.

• Karn, the Great Creator + The Immortal Sun: Karn can fetch artifacts from the sideboard, while The Immortal Sun provides card draw and mana reduction, fueling a steady stream of threats.
• Blasphemous Edict + Fatal Push: Blasphemous Edict clears the board of all creatures, while Fatal Push handles early threats efficiently, maintaining control until planeswalkers take over.
• Teferi, Hero of Dominaria + Jace, Wielder of Mysteries: Teferi provides card advantage and untaps lands, allowing you to deploy Jace and protect him; Jace's ultimate is a win condition.

• Keep hands with at least 3 lands and early interaction (Fatal Push, Syncopate, or Opt).
• Mulligan hands with only expensive planeswalkers or no sweepers against aggressive decks.
• A hand with Teferi, Hero of Dominaria and a sweeper is strong.

• Early Game: Use Fatal Push, Cast Down, and Syncopate to disrupt early plays. Opt to smooth draws.
• Mid Game: Wipe the board with Blasphemous Edict or Time Wipe. Land a planeswalker like Karn or Elspeth to start generating value.
• Late Game: Deploy Teferi or Jace for card advantage and ultimate. The Immortal Sun accelerates and provides resources. Overwhelm with planeswalker abilities.

• Vulnerable to fast aggro if you don't draw early removal or sweepers.
• Relies on the graveyard for some recursion; opponents with graveyard hate can hinder Elspeth's escape.
• Control mirrors can be challenging if you run out of gas; include card draw like Opt to maintain momentum.
