Ajani's Cat Legacy

A Selesnya lifegain and Cat-token deck that turns every bit of life gain into a growing army of Cats and Pridemates.

Ajani's Pridemate and Brightblade Stoat both grow when you gain life, while Enduring Innocence and Ajani's Welcome create a constant stream of life gain triggers every time a creature enters. Bristly Bill and Innkeeper's Talent multiply +1/+1 counters, turning a single Ajani, Nacatl Pariah activation into a board full of oversized Cats.

Keep hands with at least two lands and an early play such as Llanowar Elves, Ajani's Pridemate, or Brightblade Stoat. Mulligan hands that are too slow and have no two-drop, and avoid hands without both white and green sources.

Early: accelerate with Llanowar Elves, then drop a lifegain creature like Ajani's Pridemate or Brightblade Stoat. Mid: use Sheltered by Ghosts and Get Lost to clear blockers while gaining life and growing your creatures. Late: resolve Ajani, Nacatl Pariah to create Cat tokens, then pump the entire board with Bristly Bill and Innkeeper's Talent to trample or fly over the opponent for lethal damage.

Board wipes can wipe out the Cat army and all the counters accumulated. The deck is also vulnerable to exile removal on Ajani or Bristly Bill, and can stumble if it fails to draw enough lands or early plays.
