Five-Color Control with Tidebinder
StandardDeck Strategy
A five-color control deck that uses common dual lands for perfect fixing, Tishana's Tidebinder to disrupt key abilities, and Overlord of the Mistmoors to close games with evasive tokens.
Tishana's Tidebinder counters triggered abilities, buying time against combo and value engines. Overlord of the Mistmoors creates a token army that pressures planeswalkers and life totals. Meteor Golem and Banishing Light answer any permanent, while Deduce and Demand Answers keep the cards flowing. The gainlands ensure all five colors are available without basic lands.
Keep hands with at least three lands and a mix of interaction and card draw. Mulligan hands with fewer than three lands or no way to interact before turn four. A hand with Tishana's Tidebinder plus removal is ideal against fast decks.
Early: play tapped dual lands and use Shock, Murder, or Pacifism to survive. Mid: deploy Tishana's Tidebinder to stop key abilities and use Banishing Light or Meteor Golem to remove threats. Late: cast Overlord of the Mistmoors to create a token swarm, then use Deduce and Demand Answers to find more answers and finish with evasive tokens.
The deck is slow due to tapped lands and can struggle against aggressive red decks. It also has limited card advantage and relies on Overlord as its main finisher. Counterspells and board wipes can punish the token plan.
