Azorius Clue Control
StandardDeck Strategy
A white-blue control deck assembled almost entirely from Standard-legal commons and uncommons plus a handful of owned rares, using cheap Clue and Map generation for card advantage, a dense wall of counterspells and removal to choke the opponent, and evasive Angels to close once the board is locked.
Novice Inspector and Deduce both create Clue tokens that keep your hand full while providing chump blockers, and Spyglass Siren's Map token does the same while also fixing your mana or growing a flier. Ezrim, Agency Chief rewards this Clue engine directly, converting excess Clues into a large indestructible threat. Sheltered by Ghosts doubles as removal and protection: it exiles an opponent's key permanent while granting ward 2, lifelink and +1/+0 to your own creature, forcing the opponent to spend extra cards and mana to break it. Essence Scatter and Negate are held up on the opponent's turn to protect your finishers and stop the opponent's sweeper or topdeck, and Restless Anchorage gives you a creature land that survives your own removal and closes games once the board is clear.
Keep hands with 2-4 lands that include at least one white source and one blue source, plus at least one piece of cheap interaction (Opt, Deduce, Essence Scatter, Sheltered by Ghosts). Ship hands with five or more lands, hands with zero interaction, and hands that are all expensive finishers (three or more Serra Angels and no early plays). A hand of three lands, Opt, Sheltered by Ghosts and a counterspell is a snap keep; a hand of Serra Angel, Ezrim and lands is not.
Early (Turns 1-3): Deploy Novice Inspector and Spyglass Siren for Clues and Maps, cycle Opt and Deduce to hit land drops, and trade Essence Scatter for the opponent's first real threat. Never tap out on your turn unless the spell is removal. Mid (Turns 4-6): Stabilize by stacking Sheltered by Ghosts on your best creature while exiling the biggest threat, hold up Essence Scatter or Negate every turn, and start attacking with Spyglass Siren and any Serra Angel you can afford. Use Expel the Interlopers as a one-sided sweeper against go-wide boards. Late (Turns 7+): Resolve Serra Angel and Ezrim, Agency Chief, animate Restless Anchorage, and counter the opponent's topdecks while your fliers and Clue tokens grind out the last points.
The deck has no true board wipe, so fast go-wide aggro can race you before Serra Angel and Ezrim come online; your only reset is a single Expel the Interlopers. Spot removal is limited to one Get Lost and one Make Your Move, so opposing planeswalkers and hexproof or indestructible threats are difficult to answer cleanly. The mana base is basic-heavy with only one dual land, so hands that demand both double-white and double-blue on curve can be awkward, and uncounterable or recursion-heavy threats punish the counterspell plan.
