Mono-White Defensive Planeswalker Bastion

A pure-defense mono-white Standard control deck that walls off the board with cheap value creatures and enchantment-based removal, then grinds with a compact Ajani planeswalker package; Aetherspark and Millennium Calendar are not Arena-legal, so they are replaced with legal defensive engines.

Healer's Hawk and Novice Inspector provide early blockers and lifegain while Inspiring Overseer keeps the cards flowing. Banishing Light, Pacifism, Trapped in the Screen, Sheltered by Ghosts, Makeshift Binding, and Exorcise answer key threats one-for-one so your life total and board stay intact. Ajani, Caller of the Pride rewards the defensive plan by pumping blockers and eventually threatening a token avalanche if the opponent cannot break through.

Keep hands with two to four white sources and at least one early defensive play or cheap interaction. Keep hands that curve Healer's Hawk or Novice Inspector into Inspiring Overseer or an enchantment removal spell. Mulligan one-land hands, hands with no early board presence, and hands that rely only on expensive interaction.

Early: deploy Healer's Hawk and Novice Inspector as blockers, use Pacifism or Banishing Light to blunt aggro, and stabilize your life total. Mid: build a wall with Inspiring Overseer, answer problematic permanents with Trapped in the Screen, Sheltered by Ghosts, Makeshift Binding, and Exorcise, then land Ajani to add counters and pressure. Late: protect your life total, keep drawing through Inspiring Overseer, and win by attacking with a pumped creature or overwhelming the board with Ajani's cat tokens.

Your clock is slow, so fast combo and spell-based combo decks can slip under you. Sweepers punish your small-creature plan, and resolved non-creature permanents can be difficult if you lack Banishing Light or Sheltered by Ghosts. Because the deck uses only two planeswalker copies, losing Ajani to removal can reduce your late-game pressure significantly.
